Are you a big fan of manicures and always having your nails on fleek ?
Have you already tried a DIY at-home manicure ? If not, this article is for you !
You might not always have the time and money to do your monthly manicure at the nail salon. Follow some of these tips and your living room might just become the best new nail salon in your neighborhood.
Even if you’re not wearing any nail polish, any good manicure starts with a thorough cleaning process. All you need is a nail polish remover, cotton pads and the trick is done. Professional nail technicians recommend using an acetone-based polish remover for best results.
Now, the real work is about to start ! This second step is basically for you to choose the shape for your nails (rounded, square, almond…)
You might need to cut your nails first in order to get rid of the length. We recommend using high-precision nail clippers made from stainless steel with sharp blades to provide the best cutting experience, check this nail clipper out.
Now that you have cut your nails, you can start filing your nails. This process is important to keep your nails strong while giving them the shape you desire. You can use a classic emery board to file your nails. By the way, you can find all the tools you need for your manicure in the Stainless Steel Manicure/Pedicure Tools Kit.
While filing your nails, slowly go from the outside corners and file towards the center. When you achieve your desired nail shape on one side, start filing from the opposite corner towards the center.
Use a cuticle remover to remove all dead skin. Then, exfoliate your hands and wrists with The Turmeric Body Scrub. This body scrub will gently exfoliate while it foams and cleanses.
After exfoliating, moisturize your hands and cuticles with the Tuff-e-nuff (which you can also use on your feet during pedicures).
For this step, you’ll first need to apply a base coat, just like how professionals do it in nail salons. Then, apply a first coat of nail polish with the color of your choice. Make sure to brush all the way down from the cuticle to the corners of your nail. Shop this Born Pretty Long lasting nail polish in your favorite colors.
Two minutes after the first coat, you can apply the second coat. Remember : keep it nice and thin.
Tip : Have you tried wearing press-on nails ? If no, we strongly recommend to start… Check these out !
